Want to join the effort? We need:

• Brain specimens. These need to be whole, without cuts, freshly fixed in formalin. A two-week loan is usually sufficient for scanning. The Brain Ark will cover shipping costs, and the lending institution will be acknowledged here and in publications.
• Scientists. We are looking for people who can help with scanning (need access to MRI facilities capable of diffusion imaging), assist with data analysis, or help build the backend for archiving and accessing datasets.
• Patrons. None of this will be possible without financial support.
